Risk areas addressed
Who it applies to
Anyone making available AI tools or content that clone a person's voice or likeness without authorisation.
Penalties & enforcement
Civil liability; injunctive relief and damages.
Enforced by: Private right of action & Tennessee courts
Tennessee ELVIS Act is enforced by Private right of action & Tennessee courts. Its obligations are already live, so a gap is a present exposure rather than a future one. In practice that means knowing which of your AI systems fall in scope in media & entertainment, holding assessments that speak to synthetic media & deepfakes, consumer protection and fundamental rights, and being able to produce that evidence on request.
